Players
Best with 3 to 8 players. The online version works well for private rooms and AI practice.
Deck
Standard 52-card deck, no jokers. Cards rank A high down to 2 low in each suit.
Goal
Empty your hand and get away. The last player holding cards is the Bhabhi.
First Lead
The player with the Ace of Spades starts the first trick by playing it face-up.
Turn Flow Chart
| Moment | Rule | Remember |
|---|---|---|
| A suit is led | Every active player must follow that suit if they have it. | You can choose any card from the led suit, not only your lowest card. |
| A player has none of the led suit | They may play any other suit. That off-suit card is a Thulla. | The trick stops immediately when Thulla appears. |
| No Thulla appears | All cards in the trick are discarded. | The highest card of the led suit leads the next trick. |
| Thulla appears | The highest card of the original led suit picks up every card played to that trick. | Players after the Thulla do not add cards to that trick. |
| A player empties their hand | They get away if they do not need to keep leading. | A last card that wins the lead can create the power problem. |
Pickup and Escape Reminders
- A Thulla is not a trump card. It interrupts the trick, but the highest card of the led suit still decides who picks up.
- If everyone follows suit, nobody picks up; the trick is discarded.
- If you cannot follow suit, your off-suit card can force someone else to pick up, but it also reveals that you are empty in that suit.
- Do not rush your final card. If it becomes the winning card of the trick, you may still be stuck with the lead.
- Before serious games, agree on house rules for taking another player's cards and the exact two-player ending.
